Kharkiv region - consequences of military operations for ecology and the environment

On March 10, 2023, Mykola Turyk, head of the project - "Improving recreational capacity in nature conservation and forest territories of Ukraine" visited Kharkiv Oblast within the framework of an on-site meeting of the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Environmental Policy and Nature Management.
During the visit, in particular, the Oskil reservoir, which became shallow due to the actions of the occupiers and became an ecological disaster zone, as well as the Feldman Ecopark, where people and volunteers who tried to save animals were mercilessly killed, were inspected.
The main issues that were discussed at the committee meeting:- calculation of damage to the environment;-problems of demining territories;-restoration of the affected region, after our victory, taking into account the strategy of sustainable development and the green course.
